About Me

My name is Katy Lee (MBACP) and I offer a Counselling and Psychotherapy service in Bushey and Watford, Hertfordshire.

I have completed four years advanced training in Psychotherapy at The Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy (MIP) which is a member organisation of The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. Accordingly I possess a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (level 7). This means I am qualified to provide Counselling and Psychotherapy for a variety of issues and have a well rounded knowledge of techniques and experience in order to ensure I provide the best service I can for anyone who wishes to enter into therapy with me.

I am a member of The BACP (MBACP) and work in accordance with their codes of practice and ethics. Information about this can be found here.

I am also fully insured by The Psychologists Protection Society for the benefit of both my clients and myself.

Counselling in Watford, Hertfordshire

I currently run my practice from a well established Therapy Centre in the Bushey area of Watford, Hertfordshire, within easy reach of Watford Town Centre and surrounding areas such as Harrow, St. Albans, Kings Langley, Hemel Hempstead, Stanmore and North London.

Upon completion of my diploma in Psychotherapy I worked for a short time at a refuge and rehabilitation facility as one of their in house Therapists and Counsellors, working primarily with substance misuse and other addictions but also dealing with a wider range of problems and underlying issues as presented by the client. This experience solidified my love and appreciation of the positive power of Psychotherapy and how people can make changes to their lifestyles should they wish to.

Shortly after I set up my own private therapy practice in Hertfordshire which allows me to work with a variety of people and a diverse range of presentations. There is a list on my website with a number of reasons people may enter into Psychotherapy, however it is by no means a complete list, more suggested examples. Sometimes people may wish to have some Counselling sessions to explore without really having a firm outcome in mind and this is ok too. As a therapist I tailor my practice to the individual needs of the person I am working with as I believe this ensures clients get the best from our time together.

My private practice is well established and this time has allowed me to identify areas I work well in and the types of clients I am best suited to facilitating therapy for. If you are curious as to whether we might be a good fit, please feel free to get in contact for an informal conversation.

For the benefit of both my clients and myself as a Therapist I have regular Supervision with a UKCP registered Supervisor. This time allows me to offer the most effective, well rounded service possible to anyone who enters into a Psychotherapeutic relationship with me.

Psychotherapy is a confidential service and every client is treated with respect and integrity at all times. In addition to that you can also be assured of an open and honest approach to the therapy and the provision of a safe space in which we can work together, looking at both presenting issues and underlying problems with the goal of bringing about positive change.
